Opossum

The second album

It's a story of success and failure, of being lost and being found, of isolation and reintegration. Adam Dejka's most recent album takes the listener on an adventure through 7 songs and over 35 minutes of epic musical storytelling. Each track features high points and low points in this emotional rollercoaster.

First, the title track recounts the story of an opossum, a creature of the night, longing to join the celebrations of the day. Then I'm Still In Need and Hope Is All I Have deal with the torturous emotions driven by loneliness. One More Chance then gently arrives to give a new perspective, meditating on death and life, and suggesting that there may still be a future. Really Really concludes Adam's vocal addition to the album with a joyful recognition of how suffering can lead to a renewed life. Finally, T-Minus One Hour and And I Froze paint vivid images of hope, elation, and endeavor.

Sonically, you can listen for rich, layered textures, carefully crafted lyrical sounds, and bright and aggressive synths, including powerful synth solos. Adam shows the care put into every moment of every song, such that there are always more secrets to find and each element has the potential to become your favorite.

Opossum continues the story begun in Adam's first album This Is It, both in the lyrical narrative and the advancement of his production style. This is the second step, and all signs show there are many more yet to be taken.

THIS IS IT

DEBUT VOCAL ALBUM

Adam Dejka's first album takes us through what he has been feeling over the last six years. After the first track, Signs Of Gold, describe how releasing this album feels like "angels floating down, lifting you up to taste the living teacup," Glitch In Time and What's Up introduce us to Adam and his philosophy of life. Then A Boy, A Dragon takes us back to when Adam realized he was "on the vertigo road," and Creation imagines the first time he decided to write a song. The trio of Flood, Dazed, and Take Two tell the tale of despair and gaining a new perspective. Black Flag stands alone as an epic story, or a dream sequence, of pirates at war and what happens "when the world comes crashing down". The next trio of Crazy Cat, Dance, and Unbirthday reflect on trying to overcome anxiety, before the love song River wonders "what it would be like." Finally, Back On The Run and This Is It conclude and recap the album, pronouncing that "we don't have to worry anymore". The album reflects on a rocky past while giving hope that there's more to come from Adam Dejka.
